Getting to the Farm is easier than is often thought; but sometimes it can be confusing to explain.
Please note that parking is a major issue for us. We have room for only a few
vehicles at a time on the property, and only Park visitors should only use the parking lot at the top of our driveway. There is legal street parking on side streets.
We have a shuttle system working for our larger events; we also have an online carpool system.
By bike [or car]
(also see
road map) From downtown:
Take [I-5 or] Barbur south to Terwilliger and over the I-5 bridge
towards Lewis & Clark College. Cross Taylor's Ferry, pass the high school, bear right onto Boone's Ferry at the light. Down the hill, halfway up the other side: after Sturdi-Built Greenhouses on the left and Coronado St. on the right is the State Park's back entrance, on the left (east) side of the street. Our longish dirt driveway is on the far (south) end of the little lot.
Of course, if you're coming from south of Powell in Southeast Portland, you may prefer the Sellwood Bridge. On the west side of the river, take Macadam north to Taylor's Ferry Rd. and head up the hill to Terwilliger, then take a left and follow directions above. (Note: do not illegally turn left onto Boone's Ferry from Taylor's Ferry. Or better, for more peaceful biking, have someone show you how to bike through the cemetary from the bridge!)
From Lake Oswego:
Take Country Club Rd west till it meets Boones Ferry Rd, and bear right onto it. After two or so miles you will go through an intersection with Stevenson Rd at a flashing yellow light. About 200 ft afterwards, after a curve, there will be a small dirt parking lot on the right. Beware, it comes quickly; don't speed! Our longish dirt driveway is on the south end, so turn around in the lot.
From points south on I-5:
From I-5 take the Kruse Way exit, turn left (that's east) onto Kruse Way, and continue till you dead end on Boone's Ferry Rd. Turn left onto Boone's Ferry and continue straight through the Country Club Rd intersection. Follow directions from Lake Oswego above.
By Bus
The Tri-Met #38 (schedule) runs past our driveway to and from downtown, only during rush hours. The #39 (schedule) meets the #12 (schedule) from downtown near the Fred Meyer by Terwilliger and Barbur; ask the driver. The #39 thence heads up to Lewis & Clark; get off at the law school, and walk here through the Park.
By foot, through the park
Maps with trails marked: see small map at left, or check out a bigger one with detailed instructions. It might help if you can print out the map and bring it with you.
The entrance to our land is on the West Horse Loop trail, just west of the cutoff to the Boone's Ferry parking lot. From the law school, take the bike path until you see the sign for the lewis & clark trail on the right. Take it all the way to the High Bridge. From the bridge, bear left away from the sign for the Boones Ferry trail, and then right onto the West Horse loop. About 150' after the cutoff to the upper Boones Ferry lot on the right, you will see cedar tree with a right angled bough on the left, and a medium-sized trail off to the right; take it and enter our magic realm!
