In support of Try/on Life Community Farm,
I write this letter in support of Try/on Life Community Farm. I know the farm because I am a neighbor that lives up the street from Boones Ferry and their property. I also am an avid hiker in Tryon Creek State Park and walk on a trail that borders this property. I have come to know the wonderful people at Tryon Farm through gatherings, the neighborhood association and my concerns about the proposed development at the property.
My professional background includes education, consulting, and wholistic therapy. I have a love and passion for what is true and natural and connected to the earth and spirit. I want to see my life, Portland and the world be a place where all beings live in harmony, respect, creativity and sustainability.
What Try/on Life non-profit project is doing and wants to continue to do on a bigger scale is a wonderfully gracious, inspiring, and important and needed project. I feel so honored by what they want to contribute. I am excited and impressed with their vision and the non-stop action they are taking to bring this vision into full fruition. I am excited to learn from them how I can make my life more sustainable with the land. Their community is lovely, gentle, open, inclusive, and creative. I am excited about the educational programs they share with children in Portland as well as adults. Their service is very positively influential on young people and the surrounding community.
I am concerned that they may need to leave the land in the near future. They are an incredible asset to this land. My intuition tells me that the spirit of the land wants them and their vision to be there and flourish and that spirit/source will help them with this. There is great and powerful work to be done educating children and adults in this time for a more peaceful, respectful, healthy and sustainable future.
I have no doubt that the money can be raised for the vision and full implementation of this organization and community. I have no doubt that they have the skills and tremendous allies to see this through and flourish.
For my contribution, I personally am willing to contribute money, educational workshops and support where needed, I would be honored and feel great joy to continue to have the community and the educational center as my neighbors and friends.
Sincerely,
Beth Welton-Miller
