Growing Gardens is pleased to support this letter of interest to support the efforts of Try/on Life Community Farm to preserve it in perpetuity for affordable housing, farming, natural ecosystems, experiential education, and sustainable urban living. Their vision supports our efforts to promote sustainable urban food gardening.

Growing Gardens was established in 1996 to promote organic food gardening for improved nutrition, health and self reliance while enhancing the quality of life of individuals and communities in Portland, Oregon. While our work focuses on low income neighborhoods, we are convinced that model programs like Try/on Life Community Farm provide invaluable opportunities for enhancing the importance of preserving the agricultural tradition in Oregon and improving our understanding of the critical role urban/suburban agriculture has in maintaining the viability of Oregon agriculture and indeed the viability of local food economies.

We support the efforts to create a lasting, living community that is called Try/on Life Community Farm.
