Progressive Mediation is submitting this letter of support forTryon Life Community (TLC) Farm's proposal to acquire the 6.9 acre property at 11640 SW Boones Ferry Rd. and preserve it in perpetuity for permaculture farming, watershed restoration, affordable housing, experiential education, and sustainable urban living.

Progressive Mediation provides conflict resolution and mediation services to individuals, families, and non-profit organizations throughout the region.

TLC Farm represents a remarkable opportunity for residents of Portland to experience how healthfully we can inhabit the living edge between urban and wild, integrating social and natural ecologies within the city limits. It will afford an opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to sustainable urban agriculture, natural and green building, and habitat restoration practices. Through its education program, necessary values and skills will be made accessible to a wide cross-section of the city.

Currently, TLC Farm is threatened with development. Together, we can begin to turn the tide towards a truly livable future. After all, our society is at a crossroads. Can we learn to adopt lifestyles that work with rather than against the natural world? TLC Farm offers one vehicle for making that transition.
