To Everyone It May Concern:
In these times of shifting and uncertain economy we seek to find certainty and security. I say that the work being done and the vision held be the Try/on Life Community Farm on the SW Boones Ferry Rd. property offers certainty and security.
For certain, a natural, living piece of land replete with ancient systems of life, promises continuation of life. And what better security is there than knowing and trusting your neighbors. That they live their lives dedicated to promoting all life, including yours!
I trust the members of TLC Farm to do just that. Collectively and individually, these wonderful people have proven their dedication to promoting a healthy community in Portland, both through developing and practicing sustainable techniques and through educational outreach. These are people who are respected in the Portland community for their efforts to create true wealth, the wealth that comes from connecting people and teaching us how to nurture each other and the land we live one.
I am a member of the Portland Permaculture Guild, on the board of the Go Biodiesel Cooperative, and on the staff of Pacific Crest Community School, an alternative high school. As a part of PCCS, I help to educate teenagers. It is my hope that these future leaders will be able to include the TLC Farm in their education. It is my hope that I am able to include the TLC Farm in my own continuing education.
I ask you to please contrast the TLC Farm proposal with what the developers will do to this beautiful piece of property. Who will benefit? How will the land be treated? What will you get out of it? How does it add the betterment of Portland?
I hope that you, like me, see the TLC Farm as a same solution in an ever increasingly crazy world. I hope that you, like me, will support the TLC Farm.
Respectfully and Sincerely,
Ann McCracken
