To Whom It May Concern:

As a holistic physician, I am very concerned about the health of individuals, communities, and the earth. Natural Doctors International (NDi) provides natural medical aid to underserved communities throughout the world, with an emphasis on providing postgraduate educational and volunteer opportunities nationally and internationally. The mission of the Try/on Life Community Farm complements NDi's beautifully by offering a model of sustainable living at a community level. There is a great potential for future partnerships between the two groups involving public health outreach and lifestyle education for Portland's underserved populations.

I had the good fortune to live on the Farm property during my four years of medical school, and can attest to its unique position in the urban landscape. The land is literally in the city and yet on the edge of the wilderness. The group of people living there now includes some of the most visionary, honest, hardworking folks that I have ever met. I am impressed with their perseverance and ability to make their vision a reality. The group has been working tirelessly to preserve this magnificent property and offer an alternative to the proposed development of the environmentally fragile land.

I support the mission of the Try/on Life Community Farm wholeheartedly. As a naturopathic doctor in Portland, I look forward to the opportunity to participate in the educational and other health-affirming activities proposed for the Farm. As a representative of Natural Doctors International, I pledge NDi's support for future Farm projects that will provide health outreach to Portland's underserved communities.

Please feel free to contact me at (503) 380-1796 or docjaquiNOSPAM@yahoo.com if you would like more information about my previous or proposed experience with the Try/on Farm Community.

Sincerely,
