To Whom It May Concern:

The Portland Permaculture Guild is pleased to submit this letter of support for Try/on Life Community (TLC) Farm's proposal to acquire the 6.9 acre property at 11640 SW Boones Ferry Rd. and preserve it in perpetuity for permaculture farming, watershed restoration, affordable housing, experiential education, and sustainable urban living.

The Permaculture Guild facilitates monthly discussions of permaculture principles, holds work parties, and creates demonstration sites in Portland. In addition to permaculture gardening techniques, we explore topics such as water catchment systems, ponds & greywater systems, earth-friendly structures and alternative energy sources. We are excited about TLC Farm as a permaculture demonstration site and education facility. An important tenet of permaculture is that of creating systems that provide for as many of their own needs as possible. TLC Farm is in a unique position to be able to demonstrate the reality of living off the land while also remaining closely connected to a large urban center. Its proximity to Portland makes it ideal for groups of community members to gather to discuss and implement permaculture techniques. With the success of the TLC Farm workshop series already underway, we are looking forward to working with TLC Farm in expanding its use of permaculture concepts and education for the public.

We unanimously support the TLC Farm project and strongly encourage you to support this vision for a sustainable future.

Sincerely,

The Portland Permaculture Guild
